POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reporting to the Chief Community Investment Officer, the director will lead United Way of Metropolitan Chicago’s (UWMC) Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS) issue area work, including strategic plan creation, implementation, and evaluation of impact. This will include programmatic investment, partnership and initiative creation as well as public policy and public awareness efforts. The director will ensure that UWMC is progressing toward achieving financial stability outcomes in a significant and measurable way.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies, recruits and maintains on-going relationships with key community stakeholders.
- Acts as a staff team leader.
- Supports volunteers to develop sound strategies and ensure effective implementation and measurement.
- Organizes and leads regional ESS panel through coordination and implementation and measurement.
- Monitors budget, assists in identifying financial resources necessary for the initiative, and co-directs efforts to secure resources.
- Designs and executes workable operations plan, defines individual roles, expectations, and operations protocols.
- Manages day-to-day components and support staff, including a program manager and a coordinator, in carrying out their work plans.
- Works in concert with lead agencies and partners.
- Develops and tracks indicators to evaluate outcomes of the initiative.
- Provides key stakeholders with regular progress updates.
- Works in partnership with UWMC’s director of advocacy and communications staff to develop strategies and tools that promote and advance policy and critical messages consistent with outcomes.
- Acts as key point person and spokesperson for initiative, including public speaking and distriubtion of marketing materials.
- Supports United Way’s strategic direction through presentations and supports United Way’s colleagues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree (M.A.) in related fields such as social services, public administration economics, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in related fields with at least five years of experience in project management, including staff and volunteer management and resource development.
- Proven ability to think analytically and translate plans into action through initiative.
- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
- Experienced in latest version of Microsoft Office Evironment (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reporting to the Director, Campaign Operations the Project Manager will support Campaign Operations reporting, database and electronic pledging functions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Operations functions including but not limited to Inventory, Database Management, Reporting and e-Campaigns using various tools as required.
- Generate code snippets to support e-Campaigns enhancing levels of campaign functionality available to websites.
- Utilize training materials and a training curriculum to train internal and external staff in the use of campaign software functionality and requirements.
- Delivers consistently strong and effective support and customer service to internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or 2 years college accepted, from a college or university in a technical discipline.
- Experienced in intermediate HTML programming and the latest version of Microsoft Office Environment (Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Proficiency in Access is strongly desired. Experience in SQL queries strongly desired. Experience with JavaScript or similar language strongly desired. Experience with multiple reporting tools strongly desired.
- Two years relevant experience in a work environment, with account management background preferred.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Campaign, the Campaign Director oversees the day-to-day implementation and evaluation of portions of the annual fundraising campaign with assigned Fundraising Managers and possibly assigned account portfolio from major partner corporations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides staff support, in conjunction with Senior Director of Campaign.
- Provides staff support, in conjunction with Senior Director, to the General Campaign Chair & volunteer leadership team.
- Manages the implementation of the annual campaign plan through the effective recruitment of corporate leadership and volunteers.
- Supervises the campaign staff and programs to develop & achieve challenging and realistic goals.
- Manages the hiring, development and evaluation of campaign staff.
- Implements the process of assigning campaign accounts through the structure. Manages the annual goal setting process, based on direction from the Senior Director and General Campaign Chair, to ensure that challenging and realistic targets are set and met.
- Manages major fundraising projects, as assigned by the Senior Director and recommends new and/or efficient methods of business operations, generating solutions to departmental issues and challenges.
- Evaluates results of company campaigns and works with Fundraising Managers to develop corrective and/or improved strategies and tactics for the next campaign.
- Builds and manages key relationships year round.
- Analyzes Andar campaign reports in a timely manner to troubleshoot and make adjustments.
- Assists in the hiring, development and evaluation of campaign staff.
- Participates actively on the Resource Development management team, including, but not limited to, representing Resource Development in the Senior Director of Campaign’s absence, serving as project lead on assigned projects, advising new and/or more efficient methods of business operations, generating solutions to department issues and challenges.
- Participates in Leadership Giving Projects and works collaboratively with Tocqueville giving staff to grow major individual gifts to the United Way.
- Develops strategic account plans for selected major accounts and manage all assigned companies/organizations year round to significantly maximize all corporate revenues in each account.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and/or equivalent combination of employment and education experience.
- Minimum of eight years of related management experience, preferably in fundraising or workplace campaigns.
- Demonstrates effective and solution-oriented leadership and team-building skills.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Utilizes creative customer focused service skills to achieve desired results.
