Heartland Alliance’s From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign

January 10th, 2008 · Posted by Jason David Pelker · No Comments

Heartland AllianceHeartland Alliance launched the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign as a practical solution that informs, guides, and develops strategies to reduce poverty and hardship across Illinois. Almost 700,000 people in Illinois are living in extreme poverty with very limited access to basic necessities such as adequate food, clothing, housing, education, and health care.

In the past year over 1,000 individuals and 160 organizations and faith communities have endorsed the Campaign, which is leading the effort to create the legislative Commission on Poverty Eradication in 2008. If you have already endorsed the campaign, thank you for adding your voice to the call to end poverty. If not, please take a moment now to add your name and/or the name of your organization to help build this movement.
