POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:
The position of Fundraising Manager, Area Wide reports to the Director, Campaign, and is responsible for the renewal and growth of the employee and corporate giving campaigns from partner companies and organizations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works to grow the UW annual campaign through helping partner companies conduct workplace giving campaigns.
- Establishes, oversees and analyzes campaign goals, projections and pledge information through a variety of campaign reports.
- Develops, in conjunction with the volunteer and staff leadership, a strategic group campaign plan to maximize campaign results. Evaluates results and develops corrective and/or improved procedures and methods for the next campaign.
- Implements strategies, in conjunction with Director and team, to ensure campaign objectives are achieved.
- Develops and cultivates ongoing relationships with as many companies and Employee Campaign Coordinators as possible to improve understanding and support of the United Way.
- Works with Member United Ways and affiliated agencies or offices to support fundraising activities across the Metro area.
- Works with Community Building staff in order to understand and better educate donors on issues of critical work or importance.
- Public Speaking.
- Conducts volunteer trainings in order to educate and motivate volunteer groups or individuals partnering with UW.
- Collaborates with Leadership and Alexis de Tocqueville giving staff to grow individual gifts in the Annual Campaign.
- Manages volunteers, by assisting them with coordination, planning, and soliciting of new or continuing UW donors.
- Travel to various engagements in and around the metropolitan area will be necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and/or equivalent of employment and education experience.
- At least three years work experience in a related field with fundraising or account management background preferred.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fully proficient and experienced in latest version of Microsoft Office Environment (Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Fully proficient in Access is desirable).
- Utilizes creative customer-focused service skills to achieve desired results.
- Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the Chicagoland area–this position requires regular off-site appointments – must have a car.
