POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:
Loaned Executive’s will assist the Resource Development department with the 2008 United Way Fundraising Campaign, working a 20 week period in an intensive fundraising position to help reach the 2008 campaign goal.

United Way is Chicagoland’s leading non-governmental supporter of health and human services, answering a range of needs in each local community. From disaster relief, affordable daycare, healthcare access, substance abuse counseling, job training and more. United Way works with community leaders and experts to prioritize needs. Extensive research is done to identify the most critical human care needs in the 238 communities it serves and then funds the programs that best address those needs. United Way helps more than one person, one charity, one issue, or one community and is truly changing the metropolitan landscape for the better.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of account portfolios.
- Assist Employee Campaign Coordinators to plan, organize, and schedule the campaign.
- Use Andar database to maintain accurate and timely record of each account.
- Conduct training sessions for company campaign solicitors about United Way funded health and human service programs, community building and how funds are raised and invested.
- Ability to speak publicly using United Way messaging.
- Making “the ask” for employee and/or corporate donations.
- Develop fundraising strategies for assigned accounts.
- Ensure campaign goals are met and results reported in a timely manner.
- Conduct calls on low, lapsed or zero accounts.
- Serve as a United Way ambassador at all times by communicating the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago mission.
- Flexibility for cross departmental assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university or equivalent of education and experience.
- At least three years work experience in a related field with sales background preferred.
- Ability to relate well with staff, management, and volunteers.
- Energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individuals who have a strong desire to make a difference in his or her community.
- Entrepreneurial minded; embraces growth opportunities, enjoys learning and welcomes new challenges.
- Flexible, organized and detailed oriented.
- Must have reliable transportation (all mileage will be reimbursed; excluding normal commute to and from work).
COMMITMENT:
37.5 hour work week is required.
